Black farmers and gardeners have been growing and raising food before it was cool, when it was what one did for survival. They were organic before organic–few could afford fertilizers and modern farm equipment; biodynamic before biodynamic–the earth-cosmos-animal-human connection has always been a major tenet of pre-Christianity African-centered spirituality and farming; sustainable before sustainable–can’t misuse what you ain’t got; local before local–black farmers’ had limited local selling power because of few profitable wholesale and retail opportunities and institutionalized racism; and, they are all small family farms. Black lesbian relationships pose little threat to “self-defined” Black men and women secure in their sexualities. But loving relationships among Black women do pose a tremendous threat to systems of intersecting oppressions. How dare these women love one another in a context that deems Black women as a collectivity so unlovable and devalued? Tryna fight it

I think Im learning to make less noise. I dont have to respond to everything. But I do it out of habit.
If you hear what I have to say in return then…..
I doesn’t really matter sometimes. Just because I have a rebuttal doesnt mean its gonna be heard, received and understood.
Which means Im just wasting my time.
For what???
Im gonna stop getting hype to respond.
Try*
Im gonna try to stop getting hype to respond.
